As people continue to mourn the loss of Kris Kristofferson, they can’t help but recollect some of his greatest moments. Between his music and film career, there are in fact nearly too many to count. However, Barbra Streisand helped out the public by recently posting a video of her and Kristofferson singing “Evergreen” from their 1976 film, A Star Is Born.
Both one of Streisand and Kristofferon’s greatest performances, the film contains many great musical and cinematic moments. Though, one of the most well-known is when the two duet on the film’s theme song, “Evergreen.” It was this particular performance that seemingly garnered both stars two Golden Globe wins for Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role. Though, above all, Streisand’s post of the iconic scene is just another memory of Kristofferson’s long and monumental career.

Barbra Streisand’s Post Honoring Kris Kristofferson
Streisand took to X to share the moment between her and her former co-star. Knowing that the clip did all the work for her, Streisand merely wrote, “Evergreen with #KrisKristofferson.” She was right by being brief, as the three-minute performance is a grandiose symbol of their personal and professional relationship, their booming talent, and an homage to the nostalgia they provide fans to this day.
Streisand and Kristofferson’s performance of “Evergreen” shows the passion they both shared seemingly for each other, the film, and the music written for it. When watching the video, one can tell how enthralled they were with the project, as their on-screen chemistry is something every filmmaker dreams of.

“I’m Not Crying. I Am Not Crying”
After watching the clip, it comes as no surprise why their performances and the film itself was as successful as it was. Between Kris Kristofferson’s rough and rugged vocal support, and Barbra Streisand’s crystal clear voice, “Evergreen” is a testimony to the greatness of A Star Is Born. And consequently, a testament to the greatness of Kristofferson and Streisand.
One fan summed it up perfectly, simply writing “Absolutely sublime … No words …. #RIP.” Another listener added, “I’m not crying. I am NOT crying.” One listener took things a step further crowning the song “The most perfect love song ever recorded.”
The First Time Streisand Met Kristofferson
In Streisand’s first post commemorating her friend and co-star, she wrote, “The first time I saw Kris performing at the Troubadour club in L.A. I knew he was something special” and “Barefoot and strumming his guitar, he seemed like the perfect choice for a script I was developing, which eventually became ‘A Star Is Born.” Thus, it seems from the first time they met the film was bound to include the two of them and the world is lucky to have had this artistic match made in heaven.
