The talented vocalist ust proved her abilities, by delivering a rousing cover of Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer.” Wilson performed the song while celebrating the opening of her good friend Jelly Roll’s downtown bar, Jelly Roll’s Goodnight Nashville.
It’s fitting that Wilson sang at Jelly Roll’s new downtown venue. The two singers are also close friends, and also singing partners. Wilson joined Jelly Roll in 2023 on “Save Me,” from his debut country album, Whitsitt Chapel. The song earned the pair a Grammy Awards nomination, for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
Lainey Wilson’s Downtown Bar
Wilson and Jelly Roll aren’t just good friends, they are also neighbors — sort of. Jelly Roll’s new Goodnight Nashville is located at 209 Broadway. The bar and music venue is just a few steps away from Wilson’s own Bell Bottoms Up Bar, located at 120 3rd Avenue South.
“For years I’ve said if I had a bar on Broadway, or down there in the mix of it, that I wanted it to be called Bell Bottoms Up. I’ve had that idea for years and I think we kind of spoke that into existence,” Wilson tells Fox Business.
“At the end of the day, I want the bar to feel like my music. I want it to feel like ‘Bell Bottom Country,’” she continues. “I want people to feel like they can come in and be themselves and lean into the things that make them them … It’s going to tell a story — I’m a sucker for a good story.”
Wilson’s Bell Bottoms Up Bar is in the place where Florida Georgia Line’s once-famous FGL House resided. When the duo, made up of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, disbanded, it also brought an end to their downtown bar.
In addition to being good friends and neighbors with Jelly Roll, the two are also currently close on the charts as well. Jelly Roll has the No. 1 hit with “Liar,.” Wilson trails close behind at the No. 2 spot with “4X4XU,” a song she wrote about her now-fianceé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
