Vanna White’s stunning outfit on Wheel of Fortune turned more heads than expected – and not just because of her usual chic style.

The black top she wore, complete with super wide white cuffs at the sleeves, inadvertently caused a malfunction on the game show’s iconic puzzle board during the Thursday, March 13 episode.

The cuffs initially sparked some playful banter from cohost Ryan Seacrest at the beginning of the show. As the two walked on set, Seacrest, 50, joked, “Why I love your cuffs! What are you hiding in there?” to which White, 68, responded, “Nothing,” holding her hands out for all to see.

When it was time for White to turn the letters, her oversized cuffs made it a challenge to physically touch the tiles on the board. When beginning the first toss-up, Vanna had to tap the board three times before it recognized her gesture. The contestants started to giggle, and Seacrest asked, “Just a question, do the lasers not sense your hands because of your cuffs?” to which she replied, “Maybe?”

During the start of the second round, Seacrest couldn’t resist commenting, “Let’s see if Vanna can start it.” She seemingly had no trouble this round though. Despite a bit of difficulty, White continued to navigate the game, eventually managing to turn the letters, albeit with some extra effort.

Fans got a kick out of the flub on the Internet, and took to the Wheel of Fortune subeddit thread to share their opinions.

“It was funny when she couldn’t get the board to work though lol,” one said, while another complimented, “Kinda like a pirate outfit.”

“So funny – my husband said “why does she have cones of shame on her hands”…lol,” a third shared.”

A fourth critiqued, “Cringe-worthy. It would have been ok if the cuffs would have just been removed.”

Fans can watch Wheel of Fortune and see all of White’s outfit choices weeknights at 7 p.m. local time.
