Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO, shared a magical moment together on stage during his sold-out concert in Alpharetta, Georgia, on July 29 as part of his Backroad Baptism Tour.

In the midst of his headlining performance at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, Jelly Roll performed the heartfelt and emotional song “Kill A Man,” a track that holds a special place in his heart as it serves as a tribute to his wife of nearly seven years. He surprised the sold-out crowd by inviting his wife, Bunnie XO, to the stage.

“Ladies and gentlemen, my beautiful wife, Miss Bunnie DeFord,” he said as he welcomed the successful Dumb Blonde Podcast host to the stage. The crowd erupted in cheers as she gracefully made her way to her husband’s side.

“Without y’all there is no us, so we love every one of you motherfu**ers. So thank you!” Bunnie XO exclaimed as she stood beside Jelly Roll with a huge smile on her face.

The crowd was then taken on a journey of devotion and appreciation as Jelly Roll poured his heart into every lyric, recounting the deep bond he shares with his beloved wife as he gazed into her eyes and held her hand.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO shared a slow dance, enveloped in each other’s arms, as the singer/songwriter from Tennessee serenaded his wife, expressing his love and appreciation for her in front of thousands of adoring fans. Their love and connection were palpable, and the audience watched in awe as they witnessed this touching moment between the couple.

During the chorus of the tune, Jelly Roll changed up the lyrics to perfectly fit in at the moment, changing “I was bulletproof, but baby, lovin’ you could kill a man” to “I was bulletproof, but Bunnie, lovin’ you can kill a man.” After the sweet lyric change the beloved couple shared a kiss and Bunnie exited the stage to continue watching from the side stage.

“One more time for my beautiful wife, Miss Bunnie DeFord. I’m not good at writing love songs, but I love her so much that I tried,” he told the crowd.

“Kill A Man”

“Kill A Man” is a track that appears on Jelly Roll’s latest album, WHITSITT CHAPEL. The tune finds the hitmaker taking fans on a heartfelt journey back to the day he first met his wife in Las Vegas. The tale of their romance commences in 2015 in Sin City, at the renowned Country Saloon situated along the iconic Fremont Street strip. Jelly Roll was performing at the bar and Bunnie XO was in attendance and sparks flew instantaneously.

“We hit it off,” Jelly Roll told Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul. “She said she fell in love with the saddest eyes in the room.”

Fast-forward to today, and Jelly Roll hasn’t forgotten the day he first locked eyes with the one who he was going to marry. On “Kill A Man,” he recalls that very moment when he met his wife and croons the memory of meeting her over a stunning waltz melody.

“I thought that night in Vegas / the drink I was drinkin’ would finally take me / I thought I wouldn’t make it / that my demons would find me with blue lights behind me / thought my time was up more than a time or two / the enemy begins with you,” Jelly Roll sang on the opening verse before going into the choruys. “Something ’bout you has always been dangerous / I should run, but here I stand / you’re the one thing Heaven can’t save me from / and I’m far past my last chance / I was bulletproof / but baby loving you could kill a man.”

The couple will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary later this month and have plans to renew their vows.

Jelly Roll’s Backroad Baptism Tour

Jelly Roll is currently in the midst of his first-ever headlining arena and amphitheater tour, dubbed the Backroad Baptism Tour, which kicked off on July 28 at Bank Plus Amphitheater in Southaven, Mississippi.

The 44-city trek runs through Saturday, October 14, where the trek will wrap up in Tampa, Florida at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre. Hosted by Josh Adam Meyers, Jelly Roll’s Backroad Baptism Tour features support from Ashley McBryde, Caitlynne Curtis, Chase Rice, Elle King, Merkules, Struggle Jennings, Three 6 Mafia and Yelawolf on select dates.

WHITSITT CHAPEL

The trek comes in support of Jelly Roll’s recently released country album, WHITSITT CHAPEL. The 13-track project, which contains singles “Save Me” and “NEED A FAVOR,” debuted at the top of the Billboard Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart and at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Album chart.

“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life,” Jelly Roll previously shared of the project. “I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. Therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems.”
