Brett Eldredge teamed up with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show for a sparkling performance of their Christmas duet, “Sweet December.” This impressive blend of powerhouse vocals took place during the show’s beloved “Kellyoke” segment on Tuesday.
The show’s set was transformed into a winter wonderland while Clarkson and Eldredge each dressed in their Christmas best, creating the perfect background to the warm delivery.

Eldredge’s vocals were the first to light up the room as he began the opening set of lyrics. Clarkson, in her glamorous red dress, joined in to finish off the first verse before uniting on the chorus that captures the feeling of a romance growing even stronger amid the magic holiday season. A feeling of warmth suddenly erupted through the microphones amid the impressive set of harmonies that highlighted their individual talents.

They sing, “Baby, baby, turn on the Christmas tree/ Take me home and set me free/ A blanket’s good but your love’s even better/ Baby, baby, put on the classic songs/ You make me wanna sing along/ Your heart’s good at making me remember/ It’s gonna be a sweet December.”
Both artists flashed bright smiles to the audience after delivering the final notes with a delicate softness, marking the perfect end to the story about a head-over-heels in love couple.
Prior to taking the intimate stage together in front of Clarkson’s live studio audience, the vocalists shared what was going through their mind behind the scenes and during their collective soundcheck.
“I love singing with him. He is one of my favorite voices to sing with,” Clarkson admitted. “He has so much warmth in his voice and his tone is gorgeous. And anyway, I’m very excited.”

The “Songs About You” singer matched her rave reviews as he gushed over how well their vocals “mesh” together each time they sing together. He also noted that the cheerful setting had got him feeling all the joy of the Christmas season.
“I love Kelly. I love her voice…It’s just a magical feeling,” he shared. “So the soundcheck went great. The set is incredible out there. I feel festive. I’m in the middle of a Christmas tour glow tour and so I’m full mode and to be able to get to sing with her kind of just re-energizes me to go through the rest of the tour. And I’m excited to sing with Kelly again.”
Penned by Eldredge with Alexis Idarose Kesselman, “Sweet December” dropped in advance of Eldredge’s third holiday album, Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family), out now. Additionally, it marks the pair’s second Christmas collaboration, following their dazzling cover of “Under The Mistletoe,” in 2020.
Eldredge, also referred to as “Mr. Christmas,” has become known for his beloved contributions to the annual holiday season. His newest eight-track collection serves as his first release on his own label, Warm and Cozy Records.
The Illinois native is currently in the midst of his annual Glow Tour with special guest Stacey Ryan. The festive run has two remaining stops – St. Louis, MO on December 18 and Nashville, TN on December 20.
