Teacher in Allentown weaves Taylor Swift, her songs into her curriculum, turns classroom into a Swiftie’s dream
Allison Fritchman’s classroom in William Allen High School in Allentown is a Swiftie’s dream.
“Harvard University is teaching about Taylor Swift and I said, ‘Oh my goodness! This is a great opportunity to bring Taylor Swift to our high school students,’” said Fritchman.

So, she wrote a song about Taylor Swift
“If Harvard could do it, so could we,” said Fritchman.
Fritchman uses Swift’s music to teach students about emotions.
“We’ve talked about bullying, love, fear, and we’re going to continue talking about fearlessness in our classroom,” said Fritchman.
It’s resonating with students. One told 69 News they find Swift inspiring.
It’s not just emotions. Taylor Swift has made her way into all sorts of subjects. When 69 News arrived, students were working on art, making a hand shaped into a heart like Taylor does.
Even subjects like social studies have gotten the Taylor touch.
“So, we saw that Taylor traveled from state to state and we said, ‘oh we could track her,’ and how neat was it that our kids could plot from state to state,” said Fritchman.
Fritchman says she plans on wrapping the Taylor Swift lesson in a few weeks, but for now they’re just gonna shake it!
