Shelby Blackstock, son of Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock, tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Marissa Branch on Saturday (Feb. 12) at Walt Disney World.
The former race car driver and social media influencer shut down Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida for their fairytale-like wedding.
Reba was in attendance with her boyfriend, Rex Linn, as was Navel Blackstock and Brandon Blackstock.
Shelby and Marissa, who met on Tinder in 2014 and later got engaged at Epcot in Florida in 2020, told People that they chose to wed at Disney’s Magic Kingdom because of the “sentimental” value the park holds for them.
“My mom worked there when she was younger, managing the Small World ride. It was my Nana’s favorite. She passed away in 2006 at the age of 57, while I was in middle school. She was my rock, and her passing affected me deeply,” Branch told the outlet. “To this day, one of my most cherished photos features the two of us on Small World. Shelby and I first visited Disney World together six years ago — the first time I had been back since my grandmother passed. We rode Small World in her memory, which was really moving for both of us.”
After Branch walked down the aisle to Beauty and the Beast’s “Tale As Old As Time,” the couple exchanged vows on Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom with Cinderella’s Castle serving as the backdrop to their nuptials.
“Though I’ve loved the tune long before I ever had any real ideas of marriage, its lyrics perfectly capture what any bride would be feeling,” Branch shared of the song she walked down to the aisle to. “I know once I reach the altar it will be a true fairytale moment, with my handsome (fortunately not beastly), almost-husband waiting for me.”
The wedding, planned by Disney’s Diane Bowen and Hugh Howser as well as his team at H Three Events, didn’t miss a single detail, as they incorporated every single feature imaginable from the Disney parks. The couple also included nods to several of their favorite iconic Disney characters, including Tinkerbell, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, among others.
The newlyweds went on to celebrate with their friends and family during a reception at an undisclosed Disney World location.
Blackstock and Branch were brought to the reception on a horse and carriage, visualizing a scene from Cinderella.
The reception, catered by Disney, featured a raspberry buttercream cake that included “scenes of a flying Tinkerbell and nods to our favorite Princess weddings.” The dessert table also had Mickey and Minnie Mouse macarons and Be Our Guest’s “Grey Stuff,” also inspired by Beauty and the Beast.
After Blackstock and Branch shared their first dance at the steps of the Castle, McEntire joined the groom for a mother-son dance to her 2005 hit, “You’re Gonna Be (Always Loved by Me),” making for a moment that the 31-year-old won’t soon forget.
During the wedding reception, the mother of the groom also took to the dance floor to sing one of her most iconic hits, “Fancy,” which prompted a dance party.
The Blackstock’s have plans to go “somewhere warm” on their honeymoon in the near future.
